Beverley Bailey, Family Welfare Officer, invited Laura Payne from Walsall Reflexions Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) into our school to discuss the possibility of Elmwood School applying for the ‘Sandwell Well-being Charter Mark’.
The award was in recognition of the school’s commitment to and evidence of good practice in creating a school that promotes the emotional and mental health and well-being of pupils, staff and parents. Laura stated that as an EPS, it had been fantastic to work with the school through the process and hear of the great work taking place.
The Charter Mark status is in place for 3 years, or to the change of Head Teacher. At either of these points in time, a review will take place to support future developments and to ensure standards and progress have been maintained across all areas. If evidence of this is provided, the Charter Mark status will be maintained for a further 3 years and in the review meeting a new action plan will be developed with you
A presentation of the award took place on the last day of term and the certificate is now proudly on display in reception.
A big thank you to everyone who helped to support the above.
